Nakaya Ukichiro Museum of Snow and Ice

Dr.Ukichiro Nakaya (1900-1962) was born in Kaga City's Katayamzu Onsen area and was a specialist in snow. Fascinated by the exquisiteness of snow, he was the World's first scientist ever to create an artificial snowflake at Hokkaido University. Inside this Museum, there are exhibitions on the works of Dr. Nakaya and detail explanations about the development on the study of snow and ice. Modern devices and machineries are also displayed for visitors to observe various experiments about snow and ice. You too will sure be fascinated with snow after paying a visit to this Museum.
