Nagamachi Yuzen Kan (Former Saihitsuan)

Nagamchi Yuzenkan* is situated in Nagamachi's former Samurai Residence Site which is one of the best locations to appreciate the view of old castle town of Kanazawa. You can also have a first-hand coloring experience using bokashi *(gradation dyeing) technique(¥4,000) and have your picture taken in a Yuzen kimono(¥1,000). Besides these, they also offer rental kimono, so that you can take a walk through Kanazawa wearing a kimono(Reservation required ¥4,000).You can also buy Kaga-Komon (fine pattern) kimono or scarfs.* Yuzen is a hand painting kimono technique which got to Kanazawa via Yuzensai Miyazaki, Kyoto's well-known silk-dyer.
