Here one can feel the lingering ambience of a tea ceremony room. Hakuza manufactures various original crafts & products using pure platinum and gold leaf, which is the first of its kind in the world and these products are not available anywhere else. "Storeroom of Gold" is a must see. Hakuza has a "Face oil blotting paper" shop (Aburatorigami* Hakuza) in the East Teahouse District (Higashi-chayagai) as well as Gin no Nami Hakuza shop (closed on Wednesdays) which deals in a variety of miscellaneous items made of pure silver or silver leaf.The main branch of Hakuza which has Golden Tea Ceremony Room is just 10 minutes walking distance from Higashi-chayagai.

Omicho-ichiba is a famous local market located in the center of Kanazawa. It started as a morning market some 400 years back. In the feudal times, the market served as Kaga domain's food market which later became a public market in 1904. Since then, it's been popularly known as "Kanazawa's Kitchen" and is always bustling with local residents as well as tourists. The market houses about 170 shops selling a variety of things such as fresh fish, vegetables, meat, side dishes, sweets, daily commodities, flowers and so on. You won't miss the unique atmosphere of the place created by shop keepers' cheerful and loud shouts flying all around. Omicho market is also known for its restaurants where you can eat excellent fresh Kaisen-don (seafood rice bowl), Sushi, etc.

This shop, which is supported by 70 different shops including famous shops and shops with a long standing, is a hot spot when it comes to buying various local souvenirs and products. The shop displays and sells various popular traditional products such as Wajima lacquerware, Kaga Yuzen (silk fabric), Kutani ceramics, gold leaf craft as well as Japanese sweets, Tsukudani, local Sake brands.
Hands-on experiences such as making Japanese sweets or painting the glass with gold or silver coloring, which are typical to Kanazawa, are also very popular. You can take back 4 pieces of the sweets (3 made by the shop and 1 made by yourself).

This is a shopping district located inside JR Kanazawa station with a number of specialty stores that offer a large variety of souvenirs. There are a total of 140 shops including shops for fashion, famous local specialties, convenience goods, restaurants, etc. At the two shopping centers of Hyakubangai- Fureaikan and Omiyagekan, you can buy various items such as famous sweets, local Sake, other specialties and art and craft works. Hyakubangai also offers a courier service, so that you can shop without bothering about the luggage. You can also drop in at "Gurume Koji (Gourmet Street)" or "Ajiwai Kan" and enjoy Kanazawa's special local delicacies including Sushi or Kaiseki (special course).
