The Kitamaebune is a shipping route mainly through the Sea of Japan from late Edo Period to the Meiji Period. The ships spent a year to sail a round-trip between Osaka and Hokkaido and transported a great amount of fortune and culture. The facility itself was built by a former owner of a Kitamaebune Ship named Chohei Sakatani in 1878 (Meiji 11), and is registered as one of the national tangible cultural assets. The beams and pillars inside the Museum were constructed with expensive materials transported from different regions, and with many layers of lacquer painted on them, these beams and pillars still have the lust and shine even after 120 years. Inside the Museum, there are various exhibitions on everything about the Kitamaebune Ships including navigating tools, ship cabinets, a 20:1 model and other information on the lives as a sailor on the Ships.

Mt. Hakusan is one of the 3 most famous mountains along with Mt. Fuji and Mt. Tateyama. With the highest peak being Mt. Hakusan itself (2,702m), the Hakusan National Park is a mountain park that extends over Ishikawa, Toyama, Gifu and Fukui Prefecture. It only takes about an hour for visitors to drive along Mt. Hakusan on this 33.3km long Hakusan Super Forest Road. Along the way you can enjoy the stunning view of the scenery such as the Waterfall of Fukube, the mountain ranges and the gorges. The autumn foliage of the Japanese Rowan, the Betula Ermanii and the Beeches in the primeval forest is exceptionally beautiful.
Ubagataki Waterfall is one of the attracting spots as well as Fukube Waterfall. With a height of 76m, the Ubagataki Waterfall (literally means "Old Lady Waterfall") is given the name because the flow of the water down the waterfall looks like long white hairs of an old lady being blown freely by the wind. This Waterfall is the only one in the Prefecture that has been chosen as one of the nation's 100 best waterfalls. There is also a natural outdoor hotspring at the basin called "Oyatani-no-yu", and what else can compare with a dip in the warm and lovely bath while enjoying the picturesque scenery of the waterfall?
